Keily’s experience: Healthy lifestyle = balance

You have a specific following, so you’re rather unknown to the public. Please introduce yourself and your everyday life.

I’m about to turn 27 in January, I come from Viljandi and I’m the mother of a little girl. I’ve been a make-up artist for six years and it’s now my main job (except during the coronavirus crisis). In addition, I’m active on YouTube and I also do some collaborations on Instagram. In terms of my job, every day is different, meaning I don’t work from Monday to Friday. My schedule is very flexible, and I can shape my own working week as needed. And everything I currently do for work doesn’t feel like work because it’s something I would do for free if I didn’t have bills to pay. 

What’s your experience with consciously made choices regarding your lifestyle?

I started making more conscious choices about my life when my current partner enlightened me on the matter. Gradually, I started to think about what I buy from the store and which products to choose. I realised how harmful regular washing powders and other household chemicals can be to your body. Luckily, everyone can now access information by Googling it and no one is left without it. It’s important to start asking questions and not just believe what is said on television.

Which habits have you changed to live a fuller life?

For me, a full life means that I’m surrounded by people with a similar mindset to mine and who I can be myself with. Naturally, all kinds of foods, products, etc. also determine your quality of life, but at the end of the day, the most important aspect is relationships and how you feel every day. Of course, the most important relationship we have is with ourselves because if you can be your own best friend, then your relationships with others are sure to be better.

Which changes have been the most important to you so far?

The most important change is to love yourself more and more because, in doing so, you can share positive emotions with your family as well. As soon as I’m at odds with myself, it reflects on my family. As I said before, these material things are actually a small part of our lives (which do play a part), but the most important is to have a good energy within me. And of course, learning about alternative choices in terms of products we use at home to keep myself and my family members healthy has also been important.

You have a partner and a little daughter, Nora Milena. How does it make you feel to know that you’re making daily choices for yourself and your family that will improve the quality of their lives even more?

Every better choice I make for my family always makes me feel good because I know that I’m acting for the sake of those I love most. Naturally, not every day is all fun and games, it just isn’t realistic. That’s why I encourage everyone who sees someone’s life in social media looking like a wonderful fairy-tale to immediately let go of that idea. Just because someone has decided to share beautiful moments of their life doesn’t mean that every day of their life looks like this. Everyone has good and bad days.

You’ve also practised yoga. Aside from the physical challenge, how does it make you feel?

I believe that yoga is very good for your body – it releases tension and helps to calm the mind. However, these results will only come from consistent practice. When I was consistently practising yoga, I felt that over time, parts of my body were less stiff and more flexible. More toned muscles is another benefit, but above all it’s a meditative activity and a release of tension.

Did you think ten years ago that your life would be the way it is now?

Definitely not. I did dream of the life I have today, but when you’re 16 years old, you don’t know exactly what your life will be like in ten years. First, my parents split up at the time, which was a very painful time for me, and then I lost the sparkle of life for a moment. However, when negative things happen, there’s often a light at the end of the tunnel. This situation brought me to Tallinn, and Andero came into my life soon after that, which has been one of the best moments of my life. Thanks to this, we now have an adorable daughter.

But what brought me here today is faith in what I’m doing and my dreams. I’ve always subconsciously believed that everything I wish for will become true. And that’s my current mentality as well. I believe in the power of manifesting through action.

What are you currently most proud of?

I’m proud of where I am today. Surrounded by wonderful people – that’s the most important.

Based on your experience, where should people start to create a full life and a healthy lifestyle?

A healthy lifestyle = balance. Everything you do in life, you need to enjoy and do with passion. Whatever it is that you’re currently doing. Eating, exercise, relationships, etc. – all these activities must bring you joy. Energy has a significant impact on our health. If you act with low energy, it affects your body. But at the same time, learn about foods, household chemicals, toothpaste, and other products – what they actually contain and what the consequences of long-term use can be. Everyone can improve their life step by step. The beginning is always difficult, but every beginning is like that; there is no escape from this. Instead, imagine a life where everything is in harmony and think about how it makes you feel. I believe that this will push you to act. We have one life – how do you want to spend it?
